    Suneel Gupta, MASc., P.Eng., CEM (ex. LEED AP, ex. CBCP) has over 25 years of diverse energy management experience expanding to broader sustainability practice. Now he is a Director, Energy and Sustainability for FirstService Residential (Ontario). And is working on improving building performance to enhance community affordability, user experience, resilience and reputation.     Steve Ichelson

    Principal, Vice President, Operations, Avison Young

    A hands-on executive, Steve has more than 20 years of direct experience in the leasing and management of industrial, commercial and retail properties. Steve has sound business expertise and a successful track record in the field of third-party property management. Steve is the head of Avison Young’s Real Estate Management’s Operation team and has an extensive background in day-to-day building operations. Steve keeps abreast of all emerging trends in operations, sustainability best practices, energy management and tenant needs.  He has become an invaluable asset, to our clients, in ensuring properties are operated efficiently with a high level of customer service. In addition, he has an extensive background in building and tenant construction management. Resulting from conducting over $50 million in capital improvements, new building construction and tenant improvements since joining Avison Young in 2000, he has created our Project Management group, and continues to oversee its growth. Steve possesses a strong service attitude, ensuring both client and tenant satisfaction.

    Jim Lord

    Principal, Ecovert Sustainability Consultants

    Jim is the co-founder of Ecovert Sustainability Consultants, a full service environmental consulting firm. Ecovert helps builders, developers, landlords and tenants transform their new or existing buildings into models of sustainability which meet environmental best practices. His projects include the Earth Rangers Centre and the Professional Engineers of Ontario and Scotia
    Plaza. Jim’s expertise and leadership in sustainability is recognized throughout the industry. He is the Leadership Chair of the Canada Green Building Council’s Greater Toronto Chapter and is the organizer of Green Drinks, Toronto’s largest monthly sustainability networking event. 

    Joel Arthurs

    Energy Management, Environment and Energy Division, City of Toronto

    Joel Arthurs is the Supervisor of Energy Management with the City of Toronto's Environment and Energy Division. A Certified Energy Manager, he has worked for the City of Toronto for nearly a decade. Joel and his team are responsible for delivering on the City's regulatory requirements under Ontario Regulation
    507/18, the Broader Public Sector: Energy Reporting and Conservation and Demand Management Plans. Analyzing consumption patterns of nearly 5,000 utility accounts and managing the City's energy management system has allowed for the development of business cases geared towards helping the City reach its TransformTO goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050.
